When children fall sick how do we adults react to them?
I have seen parents forcefully bringing the sick crying child to the Day – Care and leave them with their medicines to be given.
Of course, we’ ll take care of them as long as its not contagious for the other children; but the poor child needs the comfort and soothing care of the parents and at times like this, it is better one of the parents take leave and be with the child at home.
HOW DO WE HANDLE WHEN THEY PRETEND TO BE SICK…?
Many kids use this ‘feeling sick’ syndrome when they do not want to go to school. Instead of reprimanding the child, the parents have to find out the reason for the child not wanting to go to school; it could a bully in the class, or the child could be finding some subject difficult to understand or there could be a teacher who could be rude to the child …What ever the reason, talking and counseling the child at that time is the best answer. This could be followed up by sending him to the Day-Care on that particular day, and the Day-Care teacher being informed about it.
